In the Buddha's Teaching, morality or virtue (sila) is of vital importance, for only by laying a firm foundation of moral purity will one be able to proceed towards the attainment of the higher stages, namely, concentration (samadhi) and wisdom (panna).
ผู้ไม่มีศีล สมาธิย่อมไม่เกิด
ผูไม่มีสมาธิ ปัญญาย่อมไม่เกิด
ผู้ไม่มีปัญญา วิมุติ(หลุดพ้น)ย่อมไม่เกิด(วรพล ศิษย์พระตถาคต)
ผู้ไม่มีศีล สมาธิย่อมไม่เกิด
ผูไม่มีสมาธิ ปัญญาย่อมไม่เกิด
ผู้ไม่มีปัญญา วิมุติ(หลุดพ้น)ย่อมไม่เกิด(วรพล ศิษย์พระตถาคต)
